Healing Through Food: Natural Tips for Better Digestion, Glowing Skin, and Overall Health

 Healing Through Food

Healing through food means that true recovery lies in eating the right kind of food. Just like a car runs on petrol you never fill it with water or diesel the human body, which is also a creation, should function on the things our Creator has provided for us.

Avoiding Refined Sugar:

Remove white sugar from your diet. White sugar contains harmful chemicals like bleaching agents. Women with wrinkles, blemishes, and dark circles often experience these issues due to excessive sugar consumption. Children who eat too much sugar often struggle academically and may experience stunted growth. Adults who consume a lot of sweets face quicker physical decline as they age. Instead, incorporate natural sweeteners like black jaggery and unrefined brown sugar, which don't contain harmful chemicals. The closer you are to natural foods, the further you will be from diseases. Therefore, avoiding white sugar is crucial for maintaining good health.

Choosing the Right Flour:

Flour is a staple in every household, but it's essential to choose the right kind. Avoid refined flour (maida), which has had its bran and germ removed. This type of flour offers no health benefits and is harmful. Foods made from maida are also detrimental to health. Instead, opt for whole wheat flour, preferably stone-ground, and avoid white bread and bakery items.

Beverages and Spices to Avoid:

Stay away from colorful sodas and soft drinks. Also, avoid pre-packaged spice mixes and flavor-enhancing cubes or powders, as they often contain harmful additives. White vinegar is also harmful to health, but natural vinegars like apple cider vinegar can be beneficial.

The Secret to Good Health: Digestion

Good health begins with good digestion. If your digestion is healthy, you will stay disease-free. But if it's compromised, illnesses will strike earlier than expected. To improve digestion, the consumption of yogurt is highly beneficial. Use traditionally set yogurt, often referred to as pot-set yogurt.

Incorporating Protein into Your Diet:

Include protein in your diet. When eating lentils, always choose ones with their skins intact. Avoid dehusked lentils. Mixing different types of lentils (three or four varieties together) significantly increases their nutritional power. Similarly, mix red beans with white beans and black chickpeas with white chickpeas. When lentils are mixed and prepared as dishes like Haleem or Harissa, they become incredibly nutritious. Eating these dishes once or twice a week is excellent for your health.

Sleep and Its Importance:

Getting enough sleep at the right time is vital. Modern research consistently shows that people who sleep late at night disrupt the body's natural repair system, which functions during sleep. For children, sleep is essential not only for academic performance but also for physical growth, as children grow while sleeping.

Children’s Nutrition:

Be mindful of the milk children consume, as it plays a significant role in their health. Instead of giving children candies, chocolates, biscuits, lollipops, or chips, offer healthier options like dry fruits raisins, figs, almonds, and dates. This change will result in fewer mood swings, better school performance, and increased productivity in children.

Eggs and Breakfast:

Young people should include eggs in their diet and always eat them with the yolk. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should be hearty, like that of kings. Dinner, on the other hand, should be light. Many avoid egg yolks, believing they're harmful to heart health. However, this belief stems from outdated research from 1944. By the 1980s, it was discovered that eggs contain good cholesterol (HDL), which cleans arteries and veins and fuels the brain and body cells. Since then, scientists and doctors have emphasized the importance of consuming whole eggs.

Achieving Healthy, Glowing Skin:

Everyone desires fair, glowing skin, but many spend a lot on products without addressing the root causes. Consuming sugar, refined flour, and vinegar leads to poor skin health. The best remedy for skin improvement is Vitamin C, found abundantly in oranges, grapefruits, and sweet lemons. These fruits work as antioxidants, removing free radicals that darken the skin. Another popular skin-whitening agent, glutathione, is naturally present in watermelons. Drinking watermelon juice or eating the fruit during summer rejuvenates the skin from internally.
